
About the Artist
Minneapolis-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Robert Everest has explored world music for over 25 years, performing 150+ shows annually across the globe. Fluent in multiple languages, he holds a linguistics degree from the University of Minnesota, enhancing his diverse performances. Specializing in Latin American and Brazilian music, he directs the Twin Cities’ largest annual Brazilian event, Carnaval Brasileiro.
Robert has been featured on MPR, All Things Considered, and The Jazz Image, as well as KARE11, WCCO, and KSTP. He has recorded multiple albums, including The World on Seven Strings, Gracias a la Vida, and Aquarela Do Brasil, receiving national radio play. His Brazilian group, Beira Mar Brasil, performed at prestigious venues like Ordway Center, Walker Art Center, and First Avenue, earning a Best Latin Band nomination.
Internationally, Robert has performed at Vinicius Piano Bar in Rio de Janeiro, Birdland in Budapest, and Ono Galerie in Bern, among others. His diverse studies span jazz, Brazilian, classical, West African, Flamenco, and Tango guitar, along with vocal and percussion training in Ghana and Brazil. Locally, he has played with renowned artists like Lorie Line, Nachito Herrera, and Estaire Godinez.
